The Brisbane Bullets are excited to announce that Sam McDaniel has re-signed with the club on a two-year deal, with a mutual option to keep him in Brisbane through to the end of the NBL27 season.
McDaniel, a 198cm guard-forward, has been a key piece of the Bullets’ defensive identity since joining the team in March 2023.
His 2023-24 NBL season saw him deliver career-best numbers, averaging 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, while also shining in the NBL1 North with the Brisbane Capitals, where he was named both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
Despite suffering a shoulder injury in September 2024 that ruled him out of the 2024-25 NBL season, McDaniel has remained fully committed to his rehabilitation and return to the court.
Brisbane Bullets Senior Basketball Advisor, Stu Lash, emphasised McDaniel’s value to the team.
“Sam is an integral part of what we’re building here in Brisbane,” Lash said.
“His defensive presence, leadership, and work ethic make him a key contributor to our success.
“Even through his injury, his professionalism and dedication to the club have been outstanding.
“We’re excited to have him back on board and look forward to seeing him back on the court next season,” Lash added.
McDaniel also shared his enthusiasm about extending his stay in Brisbane.
“Re-signing with the Bullets was an easy decision,” McDaniel said.
“The club, my teammates, and the fans have been incredibly supportive, and I can’t wait to get back out there and contribute to what we’re building.”
With McDaniel locked in for the future, the Bullets continue to strengthen their roster as they look ahead to NBL26.
