The Brisbane Bullets have chosen to Return-It, with the club today partnering with Australian recycling specialist Re.Group to increase the recycling of bottles, cans and even mobile phones through Return-It and the new ReCollect App.
Return-It offers a recycling experience that changes the way that people recycle and get rewarded for their efforts. They make it easy for people to return eligible beverage containers either in person at a Return-It depot, or through the home collection app ReCollect.
Return-It have become the Bullets’ official Recycling Partner and, as part of the relationship, the Bullets will be proud ambassadors on the quest to become more environmentally friendly. This will ensure greater support of grass roots sporting clubs, helping them raise much needed funds by returning their eligible beverage containers and mobile phones.
Bullets members and fans will also have the ability to play their part, with Return-It Hoop-It and The ReCollectors now at all Nissan Arena home games, supporting local clubs and schools.
CEO Peter McLennan is keen to start working with Return-It and ReCollect.
“All of us in the community are becoming more educated on the impact we are having on the environment and a partnership like this will not only help us at the Bullets play our part, it’ll also encourage all of our loyal fan base to also make a conscious effort to Return-It,” he said.
“This partnership is so much more than a Return-It and Bullets one, it’s a chance for community groups and local basketball clubs to raise much needed funds.”
Return-It Managing Director David Singh is looking forward to working with the Bullets.
“Everyone can participate. Be that the local under 10 team returning containers at their suburban Return-It Depot to pay for new basketballs, the local basketball club signing up for ReCollect and running virtual bottle drives to help cover costs for State Championships through to associations who can partner with us to become container return points.”
Throughout the remainder of the season Return-It and ReCollect will announce even more ways teams and clubs can join in from the sidelines and take centre court with their fundraising efforts.
