The Brisbane Bullets close out their three game stint on the road with an 108-77 loss to the 36ers in Adelaide on Saturday night.
Again without Tyler Johnson, Tanner Krebs and Tyrell Harrison, the Bullets were unable to match the energy of the 36ers who put on a strong performance in front of their home crowd.
Adelaide got out to a strong start and despite pulling the lead back to single digits on multiple occasions, were unable to stop the flow of a potent 36ers attack.
The 36ers led by as much as 33 points in the fourth quarter and won by 31 on the back of shooting 53 per cent from the floor,
Adelaide's imports were dynamic with Franks finishing with 25 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals on 11/17 shooting. Cleveland also had 20 points, nine boards, three assists and three steals on 8/12 from the field.
Jason Cadee was a shining light for Brisbane with 18 points shooting 58% from the field.
DJ Mitchell and Andrew White III added 12 points apiece, whle Gorjok Gak and Rasmus Bach both brought a lot of energy on their way to 10 points each.
Following the game Hostplus interim Head Coach Greg Vanderjagt said, “We lacked some intent defensively in terms of the physicality and willingness to do the things that are hard tonight.”
“Our attention to detail in defensive transition was extremely poor.”
“The mental toll of the week certainly played a part in that performance. It’s not why, it’s not all of it but it plays a part.”
On a positive note, new import Andrew White III had another strong outing for his second game in Brisbane Bullets colours.
“Drew’s had a tough initiation to NBL basketball. But he’s a pro and a really good human being and I can’t speak highly enough of the guy.”
“He’s very intelligent and over the course of the next 13 games he can help us win basketball games,” Vanderjagt added.
After three games on the road, the Bullets are back at Nissan Arena on Wednesday 21 December.
