In front of a bumper crowd at The Armoury, the Brisbane Bullets were unable to get past a fired up Adelaide 36ers, who ran away with a 15 point win.

Nathan Sobey continued his outstanding start to the season, making some huge plays on his way to 25 points at 44%. His intensity and efficiency on the offensive end was a shining light in the team's 85-70 loss.

The Bullets got out to ideal start, with free flowing offence early on, making aggressive plays at the basket and finishing at the rim. They were locked in on the defensive end, keeping the visiting Adelaide 36ers to16 points in the first quarter time.

In his first career NBL start, rookie,Tanner Krebs brought energy from the jump getting up and in and forcing Adelaide’s guards into multiple turnovers. He also contributed nine points, the second highest scorer for the Bullets alongside Vic Law who also finished with nine points to go with 10 rebounds.

The Bullets continued to get great looks on the offensive end, but they weren’t able to

Adelaide found their way mid-way through the second quarter, going on a 10-0 run to take the lead, turning a three point quarter time deficit to a six point lead at the half.

Beginning the third quarter, there were exciting plays from both sides, with a couple of authoritative dunks from Sobey down one end and Humphries down the other, much to the delight of the crowd. However the momentum of the game swung in the way of the visitors as they pushed the lead out to double digits.

Getting stops and pushing in transition is typically a staple of the Bullets game. However Adelaide had a clear focus on shutting down fast break baskets and forcing the home side to play in the half court.

Following a fantastic start to the season, Vic Law was clearly a focal point of the 36ers defensive plan, swarming him on every catch.

The Bullets worked the ball around and continued to get good looks at the offensive end but were unable to capitalise consistently and finish the plays off shooting just 34% from the field, which had a flow on effect.

Adelaide’s big man Isaac Humphries was the difference, finishing with an impressive 24 points,13 rebounds and six blocks.

The Bullets have a chance to bounce back quickly as the two sides face off on Monday night in Adelaide.
