The Brisbane Bullets will be heading down to the Apple Isle next month with the Hungry Jack’s NBL Blitz returning across Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales as the team prepares for the upcoming NBL22 season - announced to tip-off on December 3.
The Bullets will be joined by the Breakers, 36ers, Wildcats, Taipans and newcomers, the JackJumpers, in Tasmania on November 14 for a fortnight of action. United, Phoenix, Kings and Hawks will play their pre-season games across Victoria and New South Wales in the same two-week period, beginning November 13.
Hostplus Head Coach James Duncan highlighted the importance of the squad having the opportunity to get match practice heading into NBL22.
“This will be a great opportunity for us to get ready and be prepared for the upcoming season. We’ll get a good chance to feel out the other teams prior to hitting the court in the regular season.”
Bullets fans will get a chance to see our talented new recruits and returning favourites prior to the season proper, with every game of the Blitz to be live streamed.
Each team, across all three states, will be competing for the Loggins-Bruton Cup, playing at least four games with a points system to determine the winner of the preseason tournament.
All games are worth a maximum of 7 points; 3 points are awarded to the winning team, with an additional point awarded to the side that wins each quarter. In the event a quarter is tied, both teams receive half of a point. If a game goes into overtime, no additional points are awarded.
Following the Blitz, Brisbane will open up their NBL22 campaign on the road against the Perth Wildcats on 3 December. The Bullets make their highly anticipated return to Nissan Arena for their first home game of the season on 19 December when they take on the JackJumpers.
