Bullets sign nominated replacement player

The Brisbane Bullets are excited to announce the signing of Emmett Naar as a Nominated Replacement Player for the remainder of the NBL25 season. This initiative is part of the team's ongoing commitment to enhancing its competitive edge.

As a talented point guard, Emmett’s ability and court vision will provide essential support for team captain Mitch Norton, enhancing the team's offensive strategies and facilitating smoother ball movement.

Emmett, 29, joins the Bullets following a successful stint with the McDonald's Mackay Meteors in the NBL1, where his performance has garnered attention across the league. 

He previously played for the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL from 2018 to 2022 and had a successful season with Heroes Den Bosch in the BNXT League in the Netherlands during 2022-2023. 

Emmett also spent four years in the United States playing for the Saint Mary's College Gaels (2014-2018), where he broke the all-time assist record previously held by NBA guard Matthew Dellavedova.

In addition to his basketball achievements, Emmett is dedicated to making a difference off the court, working as a support worker for individuals with disabilities, striving to create normalcy and assist those in need. 

Emmett's selfless approach to life extends to his basketball career, where he consistently goes above and beyond for his teammates.

Emmett has also represented Australia at both junior and senior levels, known not only for his ability to score points but also for his selfless approach to the game.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me. I’m ready to bring my energy and passion to the team. I’m excited to learn from my teammates and coaches and help the Bullets achieve their goals this season,” said Naar.

Naar has maintained a long-standing relationship with Bullets’ Head Coach Justin Schueller, who was an Assistant Coach on the Australian team years ago. 

“Emmett has proven runs on the board in our league and will provide some added experience at the point guard position for us,” Schueller said.

“He has shown that he can impact the game with his high IQ and offensive skill set and will fit in with what we are doing at the defensive end.

“He is a high character person who our fans will love! I look forward to coaching him again,” he said.

Emmett has a strong connection with the team's dynamics, having played with Isaac White and Deng Adel in Illawarra, further solidifying his bond with the current roster.
