Bullets Sign Talented Forward for NBL26

The Brisbane Bullets are excited to announce the signing of forward Jacob Holt for the upcoming NBL25/26 season, further strengthening the club’s frontcourt with one of the most versatile and productive collegiate performers in the US this past year.

Standing at 6'10", Holt started his career at Santa Clara and joins the Bullets following a standout senior season with Sacramento State, where he earned Second Team All-Big Sky Conference honours after starting all 32 games and leading the Hornets in scoring (16.3 points per game), rebounding (6.9 per game), and free throws made (135).

A dynamic presence on both ends of the floor, Holt also ranked top five in the Big Sky in both scoring and rebounding, a rare feat that highlights his all-around impact.

Holt’s Australian citizenship status is currently pending, with his mother of Australian-Croatian heritage, and his father Canadian and Dutch heritage. He will be classified as a local player.

Head Coach Stu Lash said: “Jacob is a powerful and skilled forward who plays with a high motor and brings versatility to our frontcourt.  

“He’s shown the ability to score efficiently, rebound at a high level, and defend multiple positions. His skill set will be a huge asset for our group, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Brisbane.” 

Holt has developed a reputation for performing in big moments, with 11 games of 20+ points and two 30-point games in 2024.

He capped off his college career with a career-high 35-point, 10-rebound game against Idaho and a dominant 27-point, 13-rebound performance at Weber State, where he also drilled the dagger three-pointer.

 “I’m very excited to start my pro career as a Bullet and continue to develop in all aspects. Can’t wait to learn and grow!” Holt said.

“I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the team, the fans, and the city, and it’s extra special knowing I have family ties to Australia - my mum was born in Sydney and partly grew up there. I can’t wait to represent the Bullets and contribute to something big.”

Holt’s path to professional basketball has been shaped in part by two Australian coaches - David Patrick, a former Boomers Assistant Coach and current Head Coach at LSU, and Michael Czepil, who served as Holt’s Head Coach in his senior year.

Holt is expected to arrive in Brisbane ahead of preseason training and will complete his Communication Studies degree this summer before making the full-time move.
