The Brisbane Bullets are thrilled to unveil our Community Club Partnership Program, designed to offer junior clubs across South-East Queensland valuable development opportunities for their coaches.
Through this program, club coaches will gain access to coaching accreditation, clinics, and personalised support facilitated by the expertise of the Brisbane Bullets Game Development staff.
We are delighted to announce Belmont Saints Basketball Club as the inaugural member of this initiative. Established in the 1990s, Belmont Saints Basketball is a not-for-profit club with a mission to provide a nurturing environment for basketball players, allowing them to unlock both their athletic and personal potential. Affiliated with the Southern Districts Basketball Association, Belmont Saints field teams ranging from Under 8's mixed to U20 Women and Men.
Brisbane Bullets Head of Community and Development, Jay McCracken, expressed his enthusiasm about Belmont Saints Basketball Club becoming their first-ever Community Club Partner, stating, "Welcoming Belmont Saints on board is truly fantastic! Their remarkable history of development and success adds a rich dimension, and I'm genuinely thrilled that the Brisbane Bullets have the opportunity to contribute and support the exceptional work they do within and for their community.”
Belmont Saint Basketball President Melissa Parr said “This new partnership is an exciting opportunity for its coaches and players as it prepares to celebrate 25 years as a club.
“With more than 100 teams and over 780 players from Under 8’s through to Veterans competitions, Belmont Saints is committed to providing opportunities for anyone who wants to play basketball and be a part of our valued community”, Ms Parr said.
“This new partnership will open fresh development pathways for coaches and players of all levels who are looking to improve at a social or representative level.
“The Bullets are an important part of Brisbane’s basketball DNA, and we hope partnerships like this one will see their next generation of players come from within local basketball clubs like Belmont Saints,” she said.
This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting journey, showcasing commitment to supporting grassroots basketball and fostering the growth of young talent.
