Contributions across the board as Bullets continue to fire in the pre-season

There were great contributions across the board for the Brisbane Bullets on Saturday afternoon, as they claimed a confidence-building 103-78 pre-season win in Adelaide.

Hostplus Head Coach Justin Schueller will be pleased with the defensive intensity the team were able to apply throughout the match, equating to 10 steals, five blocks and forcing the 36ers into 18 turnovers, double the Bullets total of nine.

Brisbane also had 18 assists and 48 points in the paint, which are all positive signs as they build in the pre-season,

Coming of a successful NBL1 season, Isaac White continued to show his effectiveness on court with a 19-point, five-rebound performance in his home town. 

The Bullets had three players with 14 points including Tyrell Harrison who shot an efficient 75% from the field and added eight rebounds. Nathan Sobey had a quick 14 points in 15 minutes, while Sam McDaniel was equally as damaging, showing his strength on the offensive boards, on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. 

Mitch Norton had a classy 12 points, five rebounds and three assists and development player Matthew Johns capitalised on his minutes bringing energy off the bench, with 11 points and three assists.

Adelaide had a strong start to the game, leading 27-25 at quarter-time, but Brisbane quickly took the advantage in the second quarter, with a dominant 34-15 scoreline. 

The Bullets continued to control the game in the second half, outscoring their opponents, 44-36. 

The Bullets will continue their NBL24 preparations at the Hungry Jack’s NBL Blitz on the Gold Coast, which tips off next Saturday, September 16. 

Bullets fans will have the opportunity to see the team in action when they face Melbourne United, Illawarra Hawks and the Sydney Kings during the pre-season Blitz.
