DJ Mitchell joins Brisbane in NBL23

The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce the signing of DJ Mitchell on a one-year deal with a Club option.
The 6’8, forward was born in Melbourne, to former Gold Coast, North Melbourne and Brisbane Bullets import, Mike Mitchell. DJ attended Wake Forest University and Santa Clara University before a successful first year of professional basketball in the Netherlands in 2021/22. In the BNXT League, Mitchell averaged 16ppg and 8.2rpg, while shooting 42.5% from the field.
General Manager of Basketball, Sam Mackinnon said, “It’s exciting to have someone of DJ’s pedigree join the Bullets. He is a talented athlete with a great ability to score.”
“We look forward to working with DJ and believe he has the ability to become a very good NBL player in the near future.”
Hostplus Head Coach, James Duncan is pleased to have DJ on the roster for NBL23.
“I’m enthusiastic with our signing of DJ Mitchell. He provides more versatility to our roster. He’s excited to be joining the Bullets and ready to impact our team and the NBL,” Duncan said.
DJ Mitchell joins Nathan Sobey, Jason Cadee, Tyrrell Harrison, Harry Froling and Kody Stattmann on the Brisbane Bullets 2022/23 roster with more signings to be announced soon.
