DJ Mitchell will return for his second season with the Brisbane Bullets after the Club exercised the option to retain the talented forward ahead of NBL24.
Mitchell impressed in his rookie NBL season, averaging 9.56 ppg, 4.56 rpg, 1.3apg. DJ was efficient on the offensive end, shooting 47% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.
He had a breakout game for the Bullets early in the season against the defending champion Sydney Kings, where he finished with a 20 point, 10 rebound double-double and continued to grow as the season progressed.
Hostplus Head Coach Justin Schueller is looking forward to working with DJ in NBL24.
“It’s exciting for the Club to return DJ after a promising rookie year,” Schueller said.
“DJ will be a key piece in our new look Bullets. His ability to shoot the ball from three and stretch defence out is a key, but I also look forward to his growth at the defensive end.
“He is a competitor who just wants to win, which was a big reason for us returning him,” Schueller added.
DJ looks forward to returning to the Bullets and is driven to achieve success with the Club.
“I really enjoyed playing in front of the Brisbane fans and I look forward to getting back out on court, competing and doing my part to bring success to this Club,” Mitchell said.
DJ Mitchell joins Aron Baynes and Nathan Sobey on the Brisbane Bullets 2023/24 roster.
