Excitement Levels High Ahead of Season Opener

With only two sleeps to go, it’s all systems go as the Brisbane Bullets finalise their preparations ahead of the season opener against The Hawks at Nissan Arena on Saturday afternoon.
After 11 long months, the wait is finally over for the players, coaches and fans with the much-anticipated start to the Hungry Jack’s NBL season set to begin.
Experienced Guard Jason Cadee says the group is ready to rip in.
“It’s a bit weird,” Cadee said in relation to getting to this point.
“It’s been just over 11 months. We’ve done a good job and we can start here at home so that’s great.”
With seven new faces in the Bullets squad, Brisbane's style of play might be a little different for #NBL21
“It’s a different group. It’s not we’ve seen in the past.
“We’ve got a lot of different guys who are capable of doing different things. I think you’ll see different guys getting 20 or so points each game now, not just the same people each week.
“The positive thing for this group is that we can all play our part. Everyone is comfortable in their role and I think once we get some consistent games, we’ll only continue to get better.”

The addition of American imports Orlando Johnson and Vic Law were the final pieces of the puzzle that needed to be settled in relation to the squad but Cadee is encouraging everyone to be patient with the pair.
“They’ve settled in really well. They haven’t had a heap of time with us which isn’t ideal.
“They’re two really good guys, good players. I think it’ll be an evolving process with those guys but they’re ready for Saturday and are keen to get going.”
Whilst there have been plenty of changes at the Bullets, The Hawks have had their fair share of changes as well, most notably the introduction of Brian Goorjian as Head Coach.
“From what I’ve seen they like to play fast and knowing Gorj (Goorjian), I think they’ll like to play up through the lanes.
For us it’s about trying to control the tempo and playing at our pace, not theirs. If we do that, it’ll go a long way to helping us get the win.
