The Brisbane Bullets are excited to have Matt Hardiman on board as the Head of High Performance, Medical and Strength and Conditioning in NBL24.
Matt joins the Bullets with a wealth of experience both in the NBL, AFL and internationally in the High Performance space.
A former professional athlete turned coach, Matt completed his degree in exercise science. Following this, he went on to become a strength and conditioning coach at the Geelong Football Club (AFL) and later, the US Ski and Snowboard Association in Park City, Utah.
Upon returning to Australia, he served as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at the Sydney Kings for three years before heading to China to join the CBA team Shanxi as Head of Performance.
In 2021, he joined the Chinese Olympic Committee, where he worked with the Tokyo bronze medal-winning women's 3x3 basketball team.
Brisbane Bullets Hostplus Head Coach Justin Schueller said the addition of Hardiman to his team is a massive coup for the NBL24 season and beyond.
“Coming in it was clear we needed a reboot in the high-performance space, and Matt was quickly identified as a key to making change in that space,” Schueller said.
“His previous experiences in the league and the sport, position him well in leading our physical prep and already in his short time he is having an impact.
“Matt, along with our head Physio Brad are keys in the direction we are taking this Club.”
In his first couple of months with the Bullets Matt has hit the ground running.
“In what has been a busy off season, I am truly excited about this new group and new era for the Club,” Hardiman said.
“Upon signing with the Bullets, my first appointment in the performance department was a quality and experienced lead physiotherapist in Brad Moore.
“Along with acquisitions in the space of our dietetics program, massage therapists and sports doc, we are very well placed to provide an elite level of servicing for our playing group this to ensure a platform for success both on and off the floor,” he added.
In addition to his work with the Brisbane Bullets, Hardiman is also committed to helping aspiring athletes reach their full potential and achieve their fitness objectives through his business KC Sport Performance. You can find out more about Matt here: www.kcsportperfomance.com
