The NBL has today announced the highly anticipated 2021/22 Hungry Jack’s NBL season will commence on Thursday, November 18.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Peter McLennan said “We welcome the decision by the NBL to start the season in November.
“The health and safety of our players, coaches, staff and fans is of the utmost importance. In the current landscape, delaying the start of the season will give us the best opportunity to play a full home and away season in front of as many fans as possible.
“We thank our loyal members and fans for their ongoing support and patience and we send our best wishes to all who have been impacted by the pandemic across the country.
“I would also like to recognise our corporate partners for their continued commitment and support.
“Having a confirmed November start date gives our club a fantastic opportunity to build towards what is shaping up to be a great season ahead.”
Newly appointed Hostplus Head Coach, James Duncan said:
“Being new to Brisbane, the announcement of a November starting date will give me the opportunity to continue to build relationships with the players, coaches and support staff.
“It gives our players, particularly Nathan Sobey following his strong Olympic campaign and those playing in the offseason, a little extra time to refresh and prepare for NBL22.
“It will also give our playing group the opportunity to gel with one another and create foundations to build on throughout the season, which is important to our success.”
Further details on the 2021/22 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season schedule will be announced soon.
