HISTORY
Regular Season Head-to-Head:
Brisbane Bullets 5-5 South East Melbourne Phoenix
KEY MATCH UP
ARON BAYNES V MITCH CREEK
While Aron and Mitch have different strengths, they both have a huge presence in the paint, attack the boards hard and can finish well at the rim.
Both the Bullets and Phoenix will benefit from punching the ball inside. Both squads have plenty of fire power to knock down threes and spread the floor, which will give their big men greater opportunity to go to work inside.
ON THE RECORD
Following the Bullets last game, Hostplus Head Coach James Duncan felt that giving the Kings second looks and easy shots started the ball rolling. The Bullets will be looking to avoid this against the SEM Phoenix.
"It largely came down to back cuts and offensive rebounds. Giving a team like that second chance opportunities is going to hurt you which we talked about all week," Duncan said.
"In terms of seeing the man and seeing the ball, that's another thing we talked about all week and that's where they got confidence within the game because you're just giving them more opportunities to put the ball in the basket, and their confidence gets up and it's a snowball effect."
When asked about how his side can turn their form around Duncan’s response was simple.
“Execute the game plan coaches are putting forth for a consistent amount of time.”
