The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce Peter Crawford (PC) will join the Club as an Assistant Coach for NBL22.
Crawford will join Hostplus Head Coach, James Duncan and Assistant Coach, Greg Vanderjagt rounding out the Bullets coaching staff for the upcoming season.
A proud Queenslander, Crawford is no stranger to the NBL. He played over 450 NBL games, majority of those with the Townsville Crocs and Perth Wildcats. During his illustrious playing career he also represented Australia a number of times, including at the 2012 London Olympics.
Following his professional playing career, Crawford has been overseeing the high-performance basketball program in Townsville and was part of the Townsville Fire (WNBL) coaching staff when they won the Championship in the 2017/18 season. He has also been involved in the Basketball Queensland State Program, including leading the U/20 men to a National Championship earlier this year.
General Manager of Basketball, Sam Mackinnon looks forward to welcoming Crawford to the Club.
“Post his decorated career as a player, PC has worked hard on his coaching craft with Townsville Basketball and BQ State Teams and we know he will be a fantastic acquisition to our coaching staff."
Hostplus Head Coach James Duncan is looking forward to having someone of PC’s calibre joining the coaching staff.
“His experience as a former NBL player and Olympian will bring great value to the coaching staff. He’s since been doing great work as a Coach for Basketball QLD programs and has a great ability to connect with players.
“He’s excited for this opportunity, and he’ll join us in Brisbane shortly. I’m looking forward to working with him this season.”
Crawford is very much looking forward to joining the team in Brisbane.
“It’s super exciting to be involved in the NBL, something I got to be a part of for 17 years and now give back to the sport that’s given me so much. As a coach, it’s awesome to have the opportunity to pass on the things I learnt from the great coaches and players that have been around and helped me along the way," Crawford said.
“The Bullets are an iconic brand all over QLD, within the whole basketball community and a huge part of what makes the NBL what it is today. It’s really cool to be involved and have a chance to be a part of that.
"I like what Sam, JD and the rest of the crew are putting together and can’t wait to get down there very soon. I love QLD and I know how much Brisbane love the Bullets, so it’s an honour to be joining the Bullets family."
