The Brisbane Bullets will look to remain undefeated at home in NBL27 on Saturday against the Tasmania JackJumpers.
The Brisbane Bullets return to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday evening looking to bounce back from their first loss of NBL27 and maintain their perfect home record against the Tasmania JackJumpers.
Brisbane opened the season with an 88-85 comeback win over the New Zealand Breakers at Pat Rafter Arena before backing it up with a 103-95 victory over the Illawarra Hawks at the BEC.
They then travelled to Sydney on Wednesday night to face the defending champions, racing to 34 points in the opening quarter and taking a lead into half-time before being held to just 44 points across the final 30 minutes in a 93-78 defeat.
The result leaves the Bullets 2-1 heading into Saturday's clash, with Tasmania also sitting at 2-1.
The JackJumpers claimed victory when the teams last met on February 6, but Brisbane had prevailed 83-81 in a thriller in Hobart earlier in NBL26. Tasmania also edged the Bullets 84-82 in the first meeting between the teams last season.
Brisbane will remain without Taine Murray, while Sam McDaniel will be a game-time decision as he looks to make his NBL27 debut.
The JackJumpers will be without Majok Deng, Bryce Hamilton, Ben Ayre and former Bullet Anthony Drmic.
Bullets Head Coach Will Weaver believes Saturday is another opportunity for Brisbane to see the foundations being laid by his team, and is calling on the city to get behind them at the BEC.
“We were really straightforward with our founding members and corporate partners, and everybody: don’t believe what we say, watch us and see if you connect with it,” Weaver said.
“I think if there’s fans watching us play in these first three outings that don’t want to come Saturday and support us against the Tasmania JackJumpers at home at a great stadium, then we’re probably never going to be the program for you.
“My guess is that things are going to be jumping back home again in a couple of days.”
