Taine Murray was a shining light for the Brisbane Bullets on Thursday and is now looking forward to the chance for the team to hit back in Adelaide on Sunday against Bryce Cotton and the 36ers.
The Bullets have a second game of Round 7 on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Sixers at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre with the game getting underway at 4pm Queensland time.
It's the second game of the round for both teams with the Bullets attempting to hit back from Thursday night's Sunshine Stoush loss by 22 points to the Cairns Taipans at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
The 36ers are coming off a seven-point win on Friday night on the road to the New Zealand Breakers in what was their last of four consecutive away matches.
That leaves the Bullets sitting on a 4-5 record ahead of Sunday's game with the 36ers only just ahead at 5-5.
Both teams go into the game missing some key players as well with the Bullets losing Max Mackinnon and Lat Mayen following Thursday night's game with the pair joining Arnas Velička, Sam McDaniel and Jacob Holt sidelined.
Adelaide also remains without emerging star Flynn Cameron, but on Friday against New Zealand Bryce Cotton had another 31 points, but got plenty of support from John Jenkins III, Nick Rakocevic, Zylan Cheatham, Matt Kenyon and Keanu Rasmussen.
Taine Murray top-scored with 20 points for the Bullets against Cairns on Friday and he's looking forward for the team now having a chance to quickly respond in Adelaide on Sunday.
"Yeah, I mean it's great that we've got a quick turnaround," Murray said.
"Obviously, we can flush that game and try and get back to who we are and to our identity as soon as we can.
"So yeah, we'll just kind of focus on what the coaches give us and then try and execute that as to the best of our ability."
Thursday night's Sunshine Stoush might have not gone to plan for the Bullets, but a shining light was Murray with the Kiwi guard playing his third game of the season having returned from injury.
He finished with a team-high 20 points in his 21 minutes of court time while making 5/10 from the field and while he was happy to play well, it didn’t make up for the result.
"Yeah, obviously winning is the priority," Murray said.
"It was unfortunate with kind of how it happened with my surgery in that in the off-season, but obviously you're always grateful to be able to lace them up and to play, and ultimately try and help this team win, which is tough to do when you're on the sidelines.
"We approach every game to try and win and put our best foot forward, and I think that they were (Cairns) tougher than us.
"They beat us in a lot of categories which we wanted to be strong in, and we've got to quickly regroup and obviously we're going to play Adelaide now so our focus is on that."
