Sharpshooting DJ secures Polish League semi-final appearance

DJ Mitchell had 14 points, two rebounds and two assists, in Slask Wroclaw’s Polish League win over Trefl Sopot, 84-75. Mitchell shot 100% from the field, including 3/3 from beyond the arc in the match. Slask won the quarter final series 3-1, securing their spot in thePolish Basketball League semi-final series against Legia Warszawa.
In the NBL1 North, Nathan Sobey’s Ipswich Force defeated Kouat Noi’s USC Rip City 111-102 at home on Saturday night.
Sobey once again led the charge for Ipswich, finishing with 30 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals on 10/16 shooting from the floor, and 6/12 from three-point territory.
The Force and Nathan Sobey will be back in action on Sunday 21 May at 3pm against the Northside Wizards.

Despite another couple of big performances from Isaac White, the Mackay Meteors went 0-2 over the weekend in the NBL1 North.
On Friday night, they were defeated by the Cairns Marlins, 96-89. Isaac White put up 35 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals for Mackay.
On Saturday, Mackay then travelled to Darwin where they were beaten by the Salties 102-88. Isaac White was again the shining light for the Meteors, finishing with 31 points, six rebounds and six assists.
White and the Meteors will have a chance to make amends, facing Darwin again this Friday 19 May at 8:30pm.
In the NBL1 South, the Hobart Chargers, came into the game with three straight wins but were unable to continue the streak, defeated by Geelong United 79-64.
Reigning Grand Final NBL1 South MVP Sam McDaniel put up 23 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks for Hobart.
McDaniel and the Chargers are back on court Saturday 20 May at 8pm against Keilor.
