Brisbane Bullets team Captain, Nathan Sobey is set to play his 250th NBL Game this weekend when he steps onto the court against Melbourne United.
Currently playing in his 10th NBL season, Sobey has had a strong start to NBL24 and at the halfway point of the season, averages 18.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
Sobey began his career with the Cairns Taipans in 2014/15, following a successful collegiate career in the US. Two seasons later, Sobey solidified himself in the Adelaide 36ers line-up, named as the NBL’s most improved player in the 2016/17 season.
After four seasons with Adelaide, Sobey joined the Bullets for the 2019/20 season where he made an immediate impact and has continued to do so in his five season so far with the club.
When asked about his 250th game this weekend, Nathan Sobey said, “To be able to have this kind of milestone is really special.”
“It happens that it’s in Melbourne and I get to have my family who are from there, so they’ll all travel up to the game.”
When speaking about reflecting on his career, last season’s Brisbane Bullets MVP and leading scorer said, “I didn’t do it early in my career, but as I’ve got a little bit older and got kids you sort of sit back and reflect every now and then.”
However, Sobey has only one thing on his mind when he steps onto the court for the 250th time in the league.
“We’re going in there to get this one on Sunday. We’re a lot better team since we last saw them, but they’ve been rolling too so it’s going to have to take our A game for a full forty minutes to come away with the win.”
Watch Sobey and the Bullets this Sunday at 1pm (AEST) against Melbourne United on ESPN via Kayo Freebies, 10 Peach and 10 Play.
