The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce Callum Dalton will return to the club as a Development Player in the 2020/21 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season.

Dalton has been a part of the Bullets program since 2017, when he was a member of the club’s development squad. The 20-year-old power forward has represented Australia at numerous underage tournaments, including the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup.

Dalton is a second-generation Bullet, as his father Mark Dalton played for the club from 1996-1997. Mark won an NBL championship with the Canberra Cannons in 1984 and also played for Australia at the 1984 Olympic Games.

Dalton is currently playing in the QSL with the Southern Districts Spartans and is averaging 17.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Brisbane Bullets Coach Andrej Lemanis said: “Every athlete has their own journey, filled with the highs and lows of professional sport. COVID-19 has disrupted all of society and each of us have been forced to change and adapt to our new environments.

“When we were restricted from being on court, Cal took the opportunity to put in some intensive work on his body and foot speed and has arrived back into the group a greatly improved player. It’s been very pleasing to see his maturation over the past six months or so and I’m very pleased for him that he has been able to achieve this transformation."

“It’s great to get another season with Cal and I look forward to watching his continued growth. Having yet another Brisbane based junior come through the system is exciting and continues to reaffirm that our goal of making a difference in the local community has traction. Cal should be proud of the work he has done and we all look forward to seeing his continued growth.”

Dalton is the first Development Player signing for the Bullets this season. Brisbane’s current roster for the 20/21 season includes Harry Froling, Matt Hodgson, Will Magnay, Anthony Drmic, Jason Cadee, Nathan Sobey, Tyrell Harrison, Tanner Krebs and Tamuri Wigness.
