The Brisbane Bullets are hitting the road this August, taking their passion for basketball beyond the city and into the heart of South-East Queensland with the launch of the Club’s inaugural Brisbane Bullets Regional Tour.
Over three days, the NBL26 playing group, coaches, and staff will travel from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast - with stops in Esk and Kilcoy - to engage with local schools, basketball communities and fans through a series of school visits, open training sessions, meet & greets, and community dinners.
The tour will see the Bullets visit over 10 schools, host multiple public training sessions, and connect directly with regional basketball associations.
It marks the first time in recent club history that the Bullets have committed to a structured, multi-day tour focused entirely on regional engagement.
The journey begins on Monday 4 August, departing Brisbane for the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast fans are invited to attend the Open Training Session at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre from 2:30pm to 4:00pm, followed by a signing session from 4:00pm to 4:30pm.
From there, the team heads west to Toowoomba, where fans can watch the team train at Clive Berghofer Arena on Tuesday 5 August from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, followed by a Meet & Greet from 4:30pm to 5:00pm.
The final leg of the tour takes the Bullets through the Sunshine Coast, stopping in regional towns, Esk and Kilcoy, along the way before finishing the tour on Wednesday 6 August.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts said the Regional Tour is about building deeper connections with fans, grassroots basketball, and the wider South-East Queensland community.
“Basketball is one of the fastest-growing sports in Australia, and nowhere is that more evident than in Queensland’s regions,” Watts said.
“We’re incredibly proud to represent Brisbane, but we also know our fan base and the heart of basketball in this state stretches far beyond the city. This tour is about showing up face-to-face for the communities that support us year-round.”
“Whether we’re visiting a school on the Sunshine Coast, training in front of young players on the Gold Coast or talking hoops with association members in Toowoomba, we’re there to listen, inspire, and make sure fans across the region know they’re a vital part of the Bullets family.”
The tour involves:
- School visits
- Open training sessions
- Player meet and greets for photos, autographs, and giveaways
- Evening functions with local associations
The tour is also an important part of the Bullets’ wider strategy to grow the game across Queensland and support the next generation of basketballers.
“If we can inspire just one young fan in each town to pick up a ball and dream big, then this tour will have done its job,” Watts added.
“We see this as a recommitment to regional Queensland and an annual initiative that will only get bigger.”
Fans can follow the tour on Brisbane Bullets’ social media channels, with behind-the-scenes content, daily recaps, and fan highlights posted throughout the trip.
