Vic Law to be Sidelined for Extended Period

The Brisbane Bullets can today confirm that American import Vic Law is likely to be sidelined for an extended period due to an ankle injury.
The 25-year-old has missed the past two games through injury and after further testing, it has been discovered that the injury is more serious than first thought and will now require additional treatment.
Head Coach Andrej Lemanis says that whilst Law will be missed on court, the health and well-being of the athlete is always the first consideration.
“The first reaction to injury is always one of sympathy and concern for the athlete,” Lemanis said.
“Vic is a fantastic person who has added his own brand of joy and skill into this team which has significantly shaped our identity. He is a competitor who loves to play the game.
“Seeing the disappointment in his eyes as he processed that he will miss an extended period was heart breaking – a player/coach relationship is special, when a player hurts, a coach hurts.
“Given the timing, we will have to wait until after Easter to be able to get the true picture of Vic’s options for recovery from here. That will then give us clarity on the appropriate course of action and the time required to get Vic back to full health and playing basketball.
“The league doesn’t stop because we have injuries to deal with. We have great talent in the team, many of whom have played for Australia. We will now draw from that experience to adjust how we play and continue to give ourselves the best opportunity for success.
“One of the great learnings you get from sport is that, like life, everything is fluid, and you have to adjust to circumstances as they unfold. Which really was the tale for everyone in 2020.”
