The Brisbane Bullets are set to take on Melbourne United in a pre-season clash on Thursday 8 September at Selkirk Stadium Ballarat. The game to be live-streamed on brisbanebullets.com.au, YouTube and Facebook.
In their first taste of NBL competition the Bullets will look to sharpshooter Jason Cadee and newly signed import Devondrick Walker to lead from the front.
Fresh off an NBL1 North Championship with the Gold Coast Rollers, where he averaged 29.5 points and 10.5 assists over two games, Cadee will be aiming to maintain his strong form.
Walker will also be looking to hit the ground running following an outstanding NBL1 West campaign, leading Rockingham to the Championship and receiving MVP and Finals MVP in the process.
The Bullets will be missing Nathan Sobey and Tyrell Harrison who are continuing to work their way back from injury. They will also be without new signings Aron Baynes (injury) and Tyler Johnson (illness) for tonight’s match, but it will provide a fantastic opportunity for some of the Bullets younger players including Tanner Krebs, DJ Mitchell and Kody Stattmann to gain great experience and step up.
Ahead of the first pre-season hit out, Hostplus Head Coach, James Duncan said "United’s physicality will be a great test for us as we move closer to the Blitz and the regular season."
"We haven't had much 5v5 opportunity, so we're going to use these reps to build chemistry and grow, " JD added.
