What Wigness Learnt from Patty Mills

Brisbane Bullets youngster Tamuri Wigness says San Antonio Spurs star Patty Mills has taught him how to better utilise his speed and quickness on the court.
Wigness and Mills worked out together last August and Wigness hopes to use the lessons he learnt from the 2014 NBA Champion in his debut NBL season.
“Using the spacing I make from my speed,” Wigness told Gibbo Goes One on One Driven by MG, when asked what he took from his workouts with Mills.
“We are both pretty quick but just knowing how to use it. Don’t just do some fake move and not get any separation out of it because you’re just wasting energy.
“I think that’s one thing I’ve gotten out of it, how to use speed, when to use it, when to see when other players are open.”
Wigness added another attribute he admired about Mills is his immaculate off court preparation and how he follows a strict diet.
“It was real good seeing what he does off the court but also when he plays. It was amazing. You can see how he prepares,” Wigness said.
“I think he was in his preparation stage for the World Cup. Just seeing how he was getting ready, having everything all planned out, the year planned out so he could get prepared for the World Cup.
“I was more amazed with off the court with his diet and that type of stuff. You can see it with the way he is built, it is just straight lean muscle. He is real disciplined with the way he eats. I was like, I need to adapt that.”
