The Brisbane Bullets have signed Archie Woodhill as a Nominated Replacement Player for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season, adding further depth to the frontcourt ahead of the new campaign.
The 24-year-old centre joins Brisbane after two seasons with the Tasmania JackJumpers, having previously won an NBL Championship with the Sydney Kings.
Woodhill enters the Bullets program after an impressive NBL1 South campaign with the Melbourne-based Diamond Valley Eagles. He averaged 17.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 65.6 per cent from the field.
He finished the season in strong form, scoring 27, 23 and 28 points across three games in July.
“Joining the Bullets is a great opportunity for me to get back into an NBL environment and contribute to the team’s success wherever I can,” Woodhill said.
“I’m coming in at an exciting time for the organisation. There is strong belief about the positive direction of the club.
“Working with this coaching team and the roster that has been assembled – especially the quality of the bigs – will make me a better player and hopefully I can add depth. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Bullets Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Will Weaver said Woodhill’s experience and professionalism made him a valuable addition to the group.
“Archie brings NBL experience and a strong work ethic to the Bullets,” Weaver said.
“His role is to stay ready and take the opportunity if it comes. He will develop from working with this roster, and the group will be stronger with him in it.”
The Bullets open their NBL27 campaign against the New Zealand Breakers at Pat Rafter Arena on 22 September.
