The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce the signing of Jarred Bairstow to a one-year deal ahead of the 2024/25 NBL season.
After spending the 2016-17 season with the Bullets, Bairstow returns home to Brisbane with a wealth of experience. The versatile forward spent the last three years with the reigning champion Tasmania JackJumpers and prior to that, was a member of the Perth Wildcats in the 2020/21 season.
Currently playing in the NBL1 for the Southern District Spartans, the Brisbane junior is averaging 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.5 assist while playing alongside Bullets teammates Tyrell Harrison and Mitch Norton.
“Jarred is a born and bred Queenslander and comes from programs where he experienced winning and what those habits look like,” Brisbane Bullets Hostplus Head Coach Justin Schueller said.
“He has stood out in our winter workouts as a guy who has great habits, competes every day and impacts winning 100% of the time”.
“His daily approach and veteran leadership will be important for our young bigs cohort, along with his toughness and versatility on the court”.
For Jarred, a return to where it all began is exciting. “Brisbane is where I grew up playing, so it’s awesome to be back around family and friends,” Bairstow said.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been settled back in Brisbane, and I’ve really enjoyed the last few months playing NBL1 up here and getting to train in the off-season with the Bullets.”
“My experience training with the group over the last few months has been unreal. It’s been a great environment, so I’m really looking forward to getting to work with the team.”
Jarred Bairstow joins Josh Bannan, Tyrell Harrison, Sam McDaniel, Mitch Norton, Casey Prather, Isaac White, Rocco Zikarsky, Deng Adel, Tohi Smith-Milner, Keandre Cook and Development Players Kye Savage, Josh Kunen and Tristan Devers on the Brisbane Bullets NBL25 squad.
