The Bullets have announced an exciting new venture with TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275) to establish the Brisbane Bullets Institute of Sport and Business.
Building on the success of the Brisbane Bullets TAFE at School Program for athletes in years 10 through 12, the Brisbane Bullets Institute of Sport and Business offers a focused post-school education and sports industry immersion program.
Students will benefit from access to Brisbane's new High-Performance Centre, interacting with Bullets coaches, players and sports administration leaders as part of their educational experience.
The industry focused program offers unique educational opportunities through an accredited dual diploma qualification and practical training, equipping students with the skills and experience needed for a successful career in the sports industry.
In addition to academic and industry experience, participants will receive specialised coaching and customised training programs designed to enhance their on-court skills.
Brisbane Bullets Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Watts was pleased to announce this exciting collaboration.
"We are thrilled to announce our partnership with TAFE Queensland, which enables us to offer students unique learning opportunities within our high-performance environment,” Watts said.
“As we strive for success both on and off the court, this program is strategically important for us. It will also offer students invaluable exposure and insights into the inner workings of the Brisbane Bullets.”
“This program will play a key role in preparing students for a successful and impactful career in the sports industry. With the 2032 Olympics approaching, there has never been a more exciting time to be involved in the sports scene in Brisbane.”
"We are incredibly excited to partner with the Brisbane Bullets in this new training initiative. This collaboration represents a fantastic opportunity to combine our expertise in vocational education with the energy and passion of one of Queensland's most beloved sports teams,” Mr Brent Kinnane, General Manager said.
“Together, we’re committed to providing students with unique, real-world experiences that will help them excel both on and off the court. At TAFE Queensland, we believe in empowering the next generation, and this partnership is a perfect example of how we’re making that vision a reality.”
Expressions of interest for entry into the program in partnership with TAFE Queensland and the Brisbane Bullets Institute of Sport and Business are now open, with the first group of students beginning the course in February 2025.
This program is open to post-school students with a minimum academic requirement of Year 12 or an equivalent qualification. Don’t miss this chance to kickstart your career in sports with the Brisbane Bullets!
