The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce the appointment of Malcolm Watts as Chief Executive Officer and Director.
Malcolm is an experienced sports and commercial senior executive coming to the Bullets from Queensland Rugby Union. He was integral in revitalising the Queensland Reds with new commercial sponsorships and innovative game day and major event initiatives.
"Securing an executive leader of Malcolm’s calibre and experience is a critical milestone in elevating the positive trajectory of the Club,” Brisbane Bullets co-owners Jason Levien and Jake Silverstein said.
“Malcolm has experience in driving tangible commercial results. He has been instrumental in developing and leading strategies that support financial success of organisations. His appointment will allow us to evolve.”
Watts spoke of his excitement at the opportunity of taking on the new role at the Brisbane Bullets.
“The Bullets have been one of Brisbane’s iconic sporting franchises for more than four decades and it is such an honour to lead them forward,” Watts said.
“Basketball is one of the fastest-growing sports in Australia and I share the enthusiasm our ownership group has for the rise of the Brisbane Bullets in 2023 and beyond.
“I am looking forward to working closely with the staff, coaches, and players on continuing to build the brand of the Brisbane Bullets into one of Australia’s most exciting and innovative sporting Clubs, where the gameday experience is unrivalled.”
Watts will start his tenure at the Club mid-July and will be available to speak to media from that point onward.
