Brisbane Bullets Launch Athlete Academy Program
The Brisbane Bullets are proud to announce the launch of the Brisbane Bullets Athlete Academy, the premier pathway for aspiring athletes aged Under 14 to 19. This initiative is designed to give young players the tools, guidance and opportunities to unlock their full potential and chase their basketball dreams.
At the core of the Academy is a philosophy that athletes should train like professionals from day one. Led by Brisbane Bullets NBL coaching staff, Academy athletes will learn and compete within the same systems that have produced elite NBL and NBA talent.
Every session is high energy, competitive and development focused, challenging players to master Bullets offensive and defensive concepts, build strength and conditioning, sharpen individual offence and defence, and elevate their decision-making under pressure.
The Academy is structured as a 12-month, term-based program to ensure consistency and progression throughout the year. Selection is based on performance at Bullets Prospect Camps or Development Programs through an expression of interest, with the aim of building an elite training environment where athletes are placed at the right level to thrive.
For athletes identified as ready to take the next step, the Academy Program provides twice-weekly training under the same systems and standards as the Brisbane Bullets’ professional NBL team. Each group is capped to maintain an elite environment where athletes receive maximum attention and support. The program balances on-court development with strength and conditioning, giving athletes the physical and technical base needed for the highest levels of the game.
Prospect Camps (U14/ U16)
The first step into the Bullets Academy pathway is the Prospect Camp for Under 14s and Under 16s. These camps allow coaching staff to assess athletes, introduce them to Bullets concepts, and identify key traits such as coachability, focus and resilience. Camps ensure every athlete is placed in the most suitable environment to develop their skills, elevate their game and maximise their potential.

Futures Academy
The Futures Academy represents the pinnacle of the pathway. This level is designed for athletes on the verge of professional or collegiate basketball who need the final polish to prepare for the demands of high-performance environments. Players refine their skills with elite guidance and receive the preparation required to transition successfully into the professional game.
This stage provides a direct pathway to opportunities such as NBL Development Player roles and also supports athletes in their ambitions to secure places within the US collegiate system.
The Bullets Academy is more than a training program. It is about teaching the game the Bullets way, instilling discipline, teamwork and preparation while connecting grassroots athletes directly to the professional stage.
For athletes serious about chasing their basketball dreams, the journey starts here.
