Round Two of the NBL1 North tipped off on Friday night with Isaac White’s Mackay Meteors facing off against Sam McDaniel’s Brisbane Capitals.
After a hard fought game, it was Mackay who ran away with it, going two from two to start the season, defeating Brisbane 92-73. Last year's NBL1 leading scorer Isaac White had 19 points, five rebounds and five assists, while McDaniel had 15 points, five rebounds and two assists.
In the second game of their road double, the Capitals travelled to Rockhampton on Saturday night. Sam McDaniel was outstanding, especially late in the piece, delivering the Capitals their first win in a 93-91 thriller. McDaniel finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals, including the game winning pull up jumper with 0.6 seconds remaining.

Harrison was a shining light for the Spartans, stuffing the stat sheet with 19 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and three blocks.
Across the ditch in the NZNBL, Tohi Smith-Milner and the Wellington Saints were too strong for the Taranaki Airs, claiming a 103-86 victory. Smith-Milner had a solid outing with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists as his team sits in second place after four rounds.
Over to Europe in the French Pro B league, Deng Adel and his side Boulazac were narrowly defeated by Angers 71-65. Deng had 7 points and two rebounds in the match. His side sits in third place on the ladder with four games remaining in the regular season.
