The NBL has today confirmed that the Brisbane Bullets will face The Hawks in their season opener at Nissan Arena on Saturday 16 January.
Tip-off for the game will be at 4:30pm (QLD time) with Nissan Arena allowing a 50% capacity after consultation with Queensland Health and as per Queensland Government COVID safe protocols.
The Bullets are working closely with Nissan Arena in relation to the adjusted capacity with all corporate partners, members and general ticket holders to be contacted tomorrow in relation to the next steps and availability.
CEO Peter McLennan is happy that an opponent has been confirmed and that fans can be present at the season opener.
“The news coming out of Brisbane today in relation to the COVID Lockdown is incredibly pleasing, albeit with some restrictions still in place that will throw us a few challenges to work through, but it’s great that we are heading in the right direction,” McLennan said.
“To have The Hawks confirmed as our first opponent gives our members, corporate partners and fans some certainty around who they will be coming to watch, which is pleasing.
“Our team is working tirelessly with all stakeholders to get everything arranged for Saturday and we’ll communicate further with all ticket holders tomorrow.
“Unfortunately, being at only 50% capacity will place a limit on tickets, we obviously want as many fans there to cheer the Bullets on as possible, but our first priority is keeping everyone safe.”
