Experienced Guard Jason Cadee has today re-signed with the Brisbane Bullets, for a further two years, through until the end of season 2022-23.
The 30-year-old joined finished NBL21 averaging 27.11 minutes on court, had a field goal percentage of 37%, shot at 83% from the free throw line, as well as averaging 4.03 assists and 9.53 points per game.
After three years at the club, the veteran of over 300 NBL games, is happy to have his future sorted.
“It’s nice to have it all worked out and know that I’ll be here in Brisbane for at least the next two years,” he said.
“I’m excited. I’ve enjoyed the past three years at the club and I’m very settled here with my family.
“I felt a little underwhelmed with my efforts last season. I went through some things I’ve never experienced before and I really want to get back to playing well, and consistently.
“The club is in a good position. The private ownership is coming into effect, we have James (Duncan) coming in as Head Coach, and a solid team is being built.
“I’m looking forward to working with James, continuing to be a leader and being part of a group that can challenge for the finals, and ultimately a championship.”
GM of Basketball, Sam Mackinnon, has known Cadee for a long time and always wanted the Bankstown Bruins junior to stay.
“There aren’t many like Jason in our game and having him part of the roster was always a priority,” he said.
“His Basketball IQ is second to none and his leadership has improved while being at the club. This is represented by being awarded the Player’s Player the past two seasons”.
“Jason’s contribution goes beyond being an on-court leader as he plays a pivotal role in the education of the younger players on our roster.
“It’s good to have him locked in for the next two years and I know he’ll continue to grow as a player whilst here at the Brisbane Bullets.”
Cadee joins the already signed Anthony Drmic, Tyrell Harrison, Tanner Krebs, Nathan Sobey and Tamuri Wigness as members of the Brisbane Bullets squad for NBL22.
