The Brisbane Bullets are turning adversity into opportunity with the announcement that Logan-born Callum Dalton will rejoin the club as the concussion replacement player for Tyrell Harrison.
Dalton will remain with the team while Harrison recovers from post-concussion symptoms following a head knock in the Bullets vs. Breakers game earlier this month.
With injuries testing the depth of the Bullets’ roster this season, Dalton’s arrival provides another big body in the paint, which will be critical as the team battles some of the league's toughest opponents in the coming weeks.
Head Coach Justin Schueller says the 6'9" forward/center will bring valuable size to the team and help the Bullets maintain resilience on the court.
“Callum has been a training player with us for the past two seasons and deserves this opportunity,” Schueller said.
“He has worked hard all season behind the scenes and assisted in making our practice environment better. Now he gets an opportunity to impact winning on the floor.”
“His knowledge of our system will allow him to slot in seamlessly and his size fills a much-needed void.”
“When adversity hits, opportunity comes and we will look to make this another positive out of negative circumstances,” Schueller said.
Dalton, who spent two seasons as a development player with the Bullets, continues a family legacy with the club, following in the footsteps of his father, Mark Dalton—a former Bullet (1996–1997).
He has recently returned home from Luxembourg's LBBL after playing with the Logan Thunder in NBL1 under Bullets Assistant Coach Luke Cann, where he demonstrated his versatility by averaging 19.56 points, 10.22 rebounds, and 1.28 assists per game.
Dalton will suit up for tonight’s match up against the NZ Breakers.
