Harrison wins Leroy Loggins Medal as Bullets MVP

The Brisbane Bullets wrapped up the 2025/26 NBL season in the End of Season Gala sponsored by Sirromet Winery on Saturday night with powerhouse centre Tyrell Harrison winning the Leroy Loggins Medal as the MVP for the first time.

The event was held at Rydges South Bank in the Podium Ballroom just 24 hours following the last game of the season on Friday night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

It might have been a challenging season on the court for the Bullets, but there was still a lot to be thankful for and to acknowledge the efforts put in by not only the players on the court, but everyone involved in making them get out there possible.

The night was capped off with the presentation of the Leroy Loggins Medal and in recognition of his continued emergence into one of the elite centres of the NBL, Harrison took out the MVP award as the Bullets' MVP for NBL26.

Named in honour of the legendary former Bullet, Loggins played a record 539 games for the club while holding a whole host of records for Brisbane to this day including scoring the most points along with having the most assists, steals, blocks and rebounds while playing in two championships.

The Leroy Loggins MVP award was presented to Harrison courtesy of the Sirromet Winery with the reigning NBL Most Improved Player delivering 15.0 points and 8.8 rebounds across the season while shooting a supremely impressive 64 per cent from the field.

His season included a best of 27 points, 15 rebounds and three assists in a big early season win in Perth against the Wildcats. He racked up 11 double-doubles across the season while scoring 20 or more points on seven occasions, and grabbing 10 or more rebounds another 12 times.

Then there was Bullets captain Mitch Norton who was acknowledged with two awards following the NBL26 season as he admirably led the team from the front and did all that he could to help ensure their competitiveness out on the floor.

Having now played 394 games in the NBL, Norton is one of the league's most revered players. Following his third season with the Bullets, he ended up taking home two awards even with missing 10 games early on following a knee injury suffered in the opening contest.

The first award Norton took home for the night was the Defensive Player of the Year presented by the City of Moreton Bay. He then added the Players' Player Award to that presented by Construction Skills Queensland as voted on by his teammates.

One of the great positives out of the NBL26 season for the Bullets as it wore on was the emergence of rookie Canadian-Australian big man Jacob Holt. He was recognised by being named Youth Player of the Year with the award presented by Mitsubishi Motors Australia.

After missing the first 11 games of the first season of his professional career following off-season hip surgery, he made his debut against the Tasmania JackJumpers on November 8 and only continued to go from strength to strength.

He especially stepped up further in Harrison's absence as he moved into the starting centre role in that period including 24 points and five rebounds against the Adelaide 36ers, and 23 points and eight boards against Melbourne United.

It was more than just the numbers he delivered, he provided great energy and effort to the team and the group, and is locked in for NBL27 and now has been rewarded with a first selection for the Australian Boomers.

It wasn't just the players recognised on the evening and there are so many people instrumental in helping the Bullets team get out on the court every night you see them during the season who deserve to be acknowledged.

That included the presentation of the Narelle Kelly Award for Outstanding Service to the Brisbane Bullets. It was presented to Olly Reid who is the head of community with the Bullets and was recognised for his work in building pathways, growing the game and strengthening our community ties.

The Volunteer of the Year was presented by Rydges South Bank and was awarded to Craig Leaney who has provided nearly a decade of dedication across countless roles with the Bullets, and done each and every one of them with a smile.
