The Brisbane Bullets have today confirmed that Javon Freeman-Liberty will finish his tenure following a mutual decision between the player and the club.
Freeman-Liberty sustained a hamstring injury which has ruled him out indefinitely.
Both parties have agreed Freeman-Liberty will return home to continue his recovery and focus on his mental wellbeing.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Mal Watts said the decision was made collaboratively and the club offers its full support.
“The wellbeing of our players always comes first and we are fully supportive of this outcome,” Watts said.
“We are grateful for Javon’s contribution to the club and wish him all the best.”
Head Coach Stu Lash expressed compassion for Freeman Liberty and the way he handled the situation.
“We are appreciative of how open the communication has been, and we will continue to support him as he takes this time for himself,” Lash said.
“While we are sad to see him go, this timing allows us to move decisively on improving our roster.”
Freeman-Liberty expressed gratitude to the Bullets organisation and fans.
“I enjoyed my time in Brisbane. I will always appreciate the support I have had here and I will be cheering the Bullets on from home,” he said.
The Brisbane Bullets will provide an update on roster movements in the coming days.
