The Brisbane Bullets are set to launch their NBL27 campaign in spectacular fashion against New Zealand Breakers on 22 September, with an open-air game at the Pat Rafter Arena in Tennyson.
A sellout clash is expected at the 5,500-seat venue for the first fixture of its kind in Queensland - and the first of two games to be played on the city’s southside this season.
The Bullets will also return to Nissan Arena for an Ignite Cup clash against Perth Wildcats on 4 November.
CEO Mal Watts believes the schedule will appeal to new and existing members and fans, with an opportunity to be a part of a truly special season opener.
“We wanted to deliver something innovative and exciting as part of this year’s schedule, and opening our season at Pat Rafter Arena certainly achieves that,” he said.
“I’m sure an event as unique as this will attract interest from right across the region. It will be one of those unforgettable moments, where the city comes together to launch the season with this one-of-a-kind event.”
“I’m also thrilled that southside supporters will be able to enjoy two home games played south of the river this season.”
The club’s remaining 14 home games are perfect for families and fans seeking world-class entertainment, with two Friday, three Saturday, and four Sunday fixtures at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre - including seven fixtures during the summer school holidays.
Thursday night basketball will also feature prominently throughout the season, giving members and fans the perfect opportunity to start the weekend early by watching marquee matchups - including against Cairns Taipans on 8 October; the first of four Sunshine Stoushes across the year.
Now a staple of the NBL calendar, the Bullets will again head west for HoopsFest in Perth to take on Illawarra Hawks (17 December).
Other notable fixtures on the road include the Bullets taking on the reigning champions Sydney Kings in the first away game of the year (30 September), a trip to Tasmania on New Year’s Eve and a Valentine’s Day regular season finale in the Heartland of South East Melbourne.
Memberships for NBL27 will be on sale soon. Register your interest now.
