The Brisbane Bullets have secured versatile 6’9” South Sudanese-Australian forward Lat Mayen on a new deal ahead of NBL27.
Mayen brings NBL experience and athletic tools on both ends of the floor, providing energy and physicality across the forward rotation.
Mayen has built his career through a diverse basketball pathway, including the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence and NCAA Division I programs at Texas Christian University (TCU) and the University of Nebraska, before returning to Australia to continue his professional development within the NBL system.
He has since featured with the Cairns Taipans, Adelaide 36ers and Perth Wildcats, establishing himself as a hard-working contributor who can impact the game through effort plays, defensive ability and competitiveness.
“I’m really excited for this next chapter with the Bullets,” Mayen said.
“I’ve had the chance to learn from different programs across my journey, and I feel hungry to keep improving and contribute to this team that Coach Weaver is assembling.
“Brisbane is a great basketball city, and I’m looking forward to getting to work and connecting with the group and the fans.”
Head Coach Will Weaver believes Mayen’s ability to compete across multiple match-ups and bring consistent energy makes him a valuable addition to the Bullets’ group.
“We’re excited to welcome Lat and his family to Brisbane. He brings a defensive mindset and plays with an edge that I know Bullets fans can get behind.
“His versatility is something unique within the NBL and I am looking forward to him contributing in many ways on the court and in the community”
