Brisbane Bullets import and three-time NBL Championship winner, Casey Prather is primed and ready for NBL25.
Joining the Bullets midway through last season as an injury replacement, Prather is excited by the opportunity to have a full pre-season to build with the team ahead of the new campaign.
After a brief stint at home in the United States following last season, Prather and his wife Ariana, who were expecting their son, returned to Australia in March and the couple gave birth in late May.
“It was just a blessing to come out here kind of early and I'm glad we'd made the decision. Just being able to see my son grow out here is a blessing. My wife is really loving it out here too.”
Spending his off season in Australia and working with the coaching staff and high-performance team has given Casey the opportunity to focus on his physical conditioning and game readiness.
“Staying out here was great for me and my family just because I was able to get out here and get some rehab, work on my knee, work on getting back in game shape.”
With pre-season underway and the team beginning to gel in Brisbane, Prather shared his observations about the squad's early dynamics.
“You know, if I have to put things into one word, I'll just say hungry. Everybody's coming to practice from day one. Getting out there and competing, eager to learn the plays, eager to get better.
“Everybody has something to prove. Everyone wants to get better, and everyone wants to win on this team. It’s very exciting to see, especially at this early stage of the season.”

The Club has made significant strides this off-season, unveiling a new High-Performance Centre in South Brisbane and announcing a move to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for all NBL25 home games.
Casey and the team are eager to call BEC home and are looking forward to the season ahead.
“There's a sense of pride that goes into moving to a new facility. It's just unbelievable for the program, there is unbelievable history there and I just want to continue to make my mark on this team.”
“I want to just protect this home court and protect what we are building here.”
