The Brisbane Bullets will look to remain undefeated at home in NBL27 on Saturday against the Tasmania JackJumpers.
The Brisbane Bullets return to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday evening to play host to the Tasmania JackJumpers looking to bounce back from a first NBL27 loss and stay undefeated at home.
The Bullets started the 2026/27 NBL season impressively with the 88-85 come from behind win at Pat Rafter Arena against the New Zealand Breakers.
They backed that up beating the Illawarra Hawks 103-95 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre leading into a match up with the defending champion Sydney Kings on Wednesday night on the road.
The Bullets started that game on fire with 34 points in the first quarter, and even though they led at half-time, they managed just 44 points over the last 30 minutes to lose to the Kings 93-78.
Despite that, Brisbane have still made a strong start to hold a 2-1 record coming into Saturday evening's clash with the also 2-1 JackJumpers back at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
Saturday's game will be the first time the two teams have played since February 6 last season when the JackJumpers won by 44 points at home against the Bullets.
But before that, on November 8 last year, Brisbane prevailed 83-81 in a thriller also in Hobart, and in the first clash of NBL26, the JackJumpers won another tight affair 84-82.
While the Bullets will still be without Taine Murray for the contest, Sam McDaniel will be a game time decision to remain a chance of playing his first game of NBL27.
The JackJumpers will still be without Majok Deng, Bryce Hamilton, Ben Ayre and former Bullet Anthony Drmic.
Bullets coach Will Weaver knows that it's more about the building blocks being put in place right now and he hopes the city of Brisbane is right behind the team, and he's looking forward to seeing as many of them there as possible at the Entertainment Centre.
"We were really straightforward with our founding members and corporate partners, and everybody, to don't believe what we say, watch us and see if you connect with it," Weaver said.
"I think if there's fans watching us play in these first three outings that don't wanna come Saturday and support us against the Tasmania JackJumpers at home at a great stadium, then we're probably never going to be the program for you.
"My guess is that things are going to be jumping back home again in a couple of days."
