Brisbane Bullets development player, Taane Samuel has been selected in the New Zealand Tall Blacks team ahead of this month’s FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
The Tall Blacks will travel to Manila, Philippines for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, taking on the Philippines, Korea and India over four games from 24 – 28 February.
New Zealand are one of 16 nations vying for Asia and Oceania’s seven spots in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, which is currently in the first round of qualifications.
Prior to joining the Bullets, the 22-year-old played professionally in New Zealand, where he won an NBL title with the Wellington Saints after recording an average of 16.5 points per game.
Taane is an exciting young prospect, and we wish him all the best in his upcoming games representing New Zealand.
