The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce the signing of Tristan Devers as a Development Player for the NBL24 season.
The 6’4, 18-year-old joins the Bullets following a strong junior career, representing Australia at the U17 FIBA World Cup and the Asian Cup.
Tristan is a high IQ combo guard with the ability to lock down on defence and stretch the floor on offence.
Hostplus Head Coach Justin Schueller is looking forward to reconnecting with Tristan in Brisbane.
“Tristan comes to us as an athlete with a very bright future in the league,” Schueller said.
“I have said it many times, that all the guys I coached in the last U17 Crocs team can be pros in the NBL and Tristan showed time and time again he had a pro mindset already.
“He competes hard on every possession and has a skill package that’s best in a three and D type role.
“We see him evolving into a highly skilled tall guard and believe he will be an impact player long term,” Schueller added.
Tristan is looking forward to continuing his development and starting his journey with the Bullets.
“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to develop in an NBL professional environment for the first time, amongst players that have had both national and international experience,” Devers said.
“Justin and Vandy have already been a part of my basketball development, I travelled with them (& Rocco) competing in both the U16 Asia Cup and U17 World Cup in 2022. I have also been lucky to do a number of group workouts with DMac which was a great experience. Having familiar coaches coming in is very reassuring.”
“Justin has given me heavy defensive roles in the past and had expectations of bringing outside shooting. These attributes will always be a focus of mine in any environment as well as the continued progression of playing off a pick and roll and handling the ball,” Devers added.
Tristan Devers joins Aron Baynes, Nathan Sobey, Tyrell Harrison, DJ Mitchell, Chris Smith, Shannon Scott, Isaac White, Sam McDaniel, Josh Bannan, Mitch Norton, Next Star Rocco Zikarsky, Gabe Hadley and Matt Johns on the Bullets NBL24 roster.
