The Brisbane Bullets are proud to announce the launch of Bullets Assist, a free digital platform designed to empower athletes, coaches, teachers, and the wider basketball community across Queensland.
The initiative has been made possible thanks to funding support from the Queensland Government’s Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games under the ActiveKIT Super Round program.
This support enables the Brisbane Bullets to harness innovation and technology to inspire more Queenslanders to live active, healthy lives.
Bullets Assist delivers elite-level basketball education and resources in an accessible format for athletes, coaches, teachers, and schools throughout Queensland.
Created in partnership with Playbk Sports, a Queensland-based education technology company, Bullets Assist combines award-winning digital learning with the club’s high-performance expertise.
The launch will roll out in phases, beginning with a one-on-one training session from Bullets Captain Mitch Norton, a Strength & Conditioning video series, and the Bullets Perform Pro Series courses covering Mindset & Habits, Strength & Conditioning, and Fuel.
Phase Two will expand to teacher professional development through Teach Like a Bullet, along with advanced Pro Series, one-on-one workouts with Bullets big Tyrell Harrison, and former Bullets turned Minnesota Timberwolves player Rocco Zikarsky, plus additional performance content.
The Bullets Assist platform is closely aligned with the Brisbane Bullets Athlete Academy, the club’s premier development pathway for aspiring players aged 14–19. More than 50 Academy athletes will be among the first to use the program, with rollout also extending to hundreds of students at partner schools. The Brisbane Bullets Coaches Academy will also be equipped with the training portal.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Mal Watts said the program reflects the club’s vision to provide pathways across all levels of the game.
“Bullets Assist represents a step forward in making high-performance basketball knowledge accessible to everyone in Queensland,” Watts said.
“Thanks to the support of the Queensland Government and ActiveKIT, we’re breaking down barriers and giving young athletes, coaches, and teachers the tools to succeed on and off the court.”
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the Queensland Government was proud to support initiatives that would help more Queenslanders to be physically active.
“The Crisafulli Government is committed to finding new and innovative ways to get every Queenslander to lead active, healthy lives, and the Bullets Assist program is a great example of that," Minister Mander said.
"It's programs like these that bring sport and technology together, delivering inclusive opportunities for young people, teachers and coaches across the entire state.”
Playbk Sports CEO Jon Shepherd said the collaboration highlights the power of combining education technology with sport.
“We’re proud to support the Bullets in building a program that not only shares basketball knowledge but also empowers young people across Queensland to thrive through world-class learning.”
