The Brisbane Bullets are seeking expressions of interest from local Indigenous artists to create a design to be used on our jersey and shorts, to be worn during Indigenous Round(s), for the 2023/24 National Basketball League (NBL) season.
The NBL host an Indigenous Round each season to celebrate, recognise and acknowledge Indigenous culture across Australia and New Zealand. In Brisbane, the Bullets use the NBL’s Indigenous Round to acknowledge, celebrate and pay respects to the Indigenous people and culture.
Since the inclusion of the NBL Indigenous Round, the Brisbane Bullets have been very fortunate to have such talented and respected indigenous artists create and articulate the story of Brisbane through storytelling and creative design.
The Brisbane Bullets are now looking for our artist for next season to continue telling the story of the beautiful city of Brisbane. If this sounds like you, or someone you know, we'd love to hear from you and learn about your story and interest in the project.
The key aspects of the design should:
- Represent the Indigenous culture of Brisbane, telling the stories of the Indigenous people and the land;
- Implement the existing Brisbane Bullets team colours of blue and yellow
Full details can be found HERE.
The Brisbane Bullets acknowledge and pay our respect to the Indigenous people as the traditional and original owners, and continuing custodians of this land on which we live, work and play today.?
