The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce the signing of Sam McDaniel on a two-year deal.
The 198cm guard was a key defensive piece to Melbourne United’s Championship winning team in 2021. He spent the last two seasons with the Tasmania JackJumpers, continuing to assert himself as a lockdown defender as the team made playoff pushes in both NBL22 and NBL23.
In 2022, McDaniel earned Grand Final MVP honours for the Hobart Chargers in the NBL1 South where he helped his team win the Championship finishing with 32 points and six rebounds.
“Sam is one of the first players I thought of to help impact and change the way we defend as a club,” Hostplus Head Coach Justin Schueller said.
“I’ve been in the fire with Sam and won with him, he has the habits and mindset we need and knows what championship success looks like!”
“I can’t wait for fans to see how he impacts winning,” Schueller added.
McDaniel is looking forward to joining the Club and becoming a part of Brisbane’s basketball community.
“I’m super excited to be joining the Bullets and to make the move up to Brisbane with my family, and to experience the amazing city and great fans,” McDaniel said
“I chose to join the Bullets because I see it as an organisation where I can impact winning and help bring a winning culture back to.”
“I pride myself on playing hard every game and I think I can bring tenacity, aggressiveness and versatility on the court along with a defensive mindset,” McDaniel added.
Sam McDaniel joins Aron Baynes, Nathan Sobey, Tyrell Harrison, DJ Mitchell and Isaac White on the Bullets NBL24 roster.
