The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce Matt Johns has re-signed with the Brisbane Bullets as a Development Player for NBL24.
Matt is an athletic forward standing at 203cm tall, with a strong defensive focus and a great ability to positively impact a game. The 24-year-old played four years of college basketball in the United States at South Dakota and Concordia St Paul, before joining the Brisbane Bullets for the 2022/23 NBL season.
As a junior, he attended the Centre of Excellence and represented Australia multiple times, including at the U/17 World Championships where he was coached by Justin Schueller.
Justin is looking forward to adding Matt to the roster for NBL24.
“Matt is an athlete with tremendous upside and the versatility he offers our squad is exactly what we need,” Schueller said.
“His daily habits and accountability will see him achieve what he wants while helping us be a better program.
“I look forward to Matty’s growth this year.”
Matt Johns is “super excited” to be back with the Bullets for another year.
“This is where I want to be and especially now with Justin as Head Coach I’m very happy to be back,” Johns said.
“With it being my second year in an NBL environment, I know what to expect day to day and how to get the most out of NBL24.
“Having had Justin as a coach before, I know how much he has to offer to my development alongside Vandy and DMac.
“I can’t wait to start pre-season and get back to work.”
Matt Johns joins Aron Baynes, Nathan Sobey, Tyrell Harrison, DJ Mitchell, Chris Smith, Shannon Scott, Isaac White, Sam McDaniel, Josh Bannan, Mitch Norton, Next Star Rocco Zikarsky and Gabe Hadley on the Bullets NBL24 roster.
