NBA star Thad Young has joined the ownership group of the NBL’s Brisbane Bullets Basketball Club.
A 13-year veteran, currently playing for the Chicago Bulls, Young exploded onto the NBA scene after being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers as the 12th pick, earning All Rookie team league honours.
Young’s investment is another example of NBA players and executives recognising the rise of the NBL on the global scene, and a true testament of Peter McLennan’s vision for the Bullets after being named CEO a year ago.
“I’m beyond thrilled to introduce Thad as a minority owner," said Kevin Martin, majority owner of the Brisbane Bullets.
“I had the pleasure of playing with Thad and quickly realised that he was destined to accomplish greater achievements beyond the court.
“He has really excelled as an entrepreneur in the real estate and tech spaces. He is a person that exemplifies the qualities of the Brisbane community and will add tremendous value to our organisation.”

Young is looking forward to being part of the Brisbane Bullets into the future.
“The NBL is the next upcoming league,” Young said.
“It’s prime for growth, through our young talent. It’s going to be the new wave and provide development opportunities for players.
“The opportunity is unique, and a no-brainer for me as a pro-athlete. Aside from adding capital dollars, I can also add value with my knowledge, relationships and access to young talent who are capable of growing their games in the NBL.”
Bullets CEO, Peter McLennan, is excited about the addition of Young to the ownership group.
“The addition of Thad is a true testament of what we’re building here at the Bullets,” he said.
“We are really privileged and excited to add someone to the Club such as Thad who has a wealth of knowledge across basketball and business. I’m looking forward to working with him.
“The basketball pedigree around the Club is something that all Brisbane members, corporate partners and fans should be excited about.
“The Bullets has an amazing legacy in Brisbane and we’re now getting noticed globally, our brand is only going to continue to grow in the game.
“We are working towards some big things here at the Bullets. We have a bold vision and with quality individuals as part of the Club, we’re excited about what the future holds.”
