LAST TIME ON COURT
The Bullets took on the Taipans in Cairns on Wednesday night. After getting out to a hot start, the Taipans stemmed the flow of the Bullets offence and defeated the visitors 85-76 in Cairns to open Indigenous Round.
For Adelaide, their last game was against South East Melbourne Phoenix where they were beaten 102-84. Both teams will be looking to chalk up another win and build some positive momentum as they pass the half way point of the season.
KEY MATCH UPS
There are matchups aplenty on and off the court between the Bullets and 36ers with former Assistant Coaches Greg Vanderjagt and CJ Bruton, under Andrej Lemanis, going head to head as Head Coach of their respective teams.
At the point guard position, Jason Cadee and Mitch McCarron are high IQ athletes. Cadee is averaging 11.7 ppg and 4.2 apg and McCarron 8.9ppg and 6.4rpg, however the positive impact both of these players have on their teams doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet.
Former teammates Nathan Sobey and Anthony Drmic know one another’s game inside out. The energy both Sobey and Drmic bring to the on both ends of the floor combined with their ability to shoot at a high clip and get to the rim makes this a fun match up to watch.
Andrew White III and Antonius Cleveland were both on the 2017-18 Atlanta Hawks roster. Cleveland has displayed his ability to play on both ends of the floor currently averaging 13.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
While White III has only played one game for the Bullets he made an immediate impact, showing his strength as a defender and ability to shoot the ball efficiently going 3/3 from beyond the arc.
ON THE RECORD
Interim Hostplus Head Coach, Greg Vanderjagt spoke to the media following the Bullets game against Cairns on Wednesday night.
"I think they responded to the challenge that was put in front of them. We didn't have a great preparation, let's be honest, but their effort and intent I can't question. I think they played their backsides off all night, they played for each other, they competed for each other and did all the right things.
"We go 8/15 from the line and 8/27 from the three, I don’t think this team does that again too many times this season. Some shots didn’t go our way and we had some mental errors down the stretch and at points in the game that hurt us so there's little things that take their toll over the course of the game,” Vanderjagt added.
