The Brisbane Bullets have come away with a second pre-season win in as many games, defeating Melbourne United 76-72 in Casey.
The Bullets and United played their second match-up in three days in the lead up to NBL Blitz and NBL23. After dominating on Thursday night, defeating United 105-77, it was a much closer encounter.
The home side got out to a hot start, leading the Bullets 8-0. However, the Bullets responded. Melbourne led for most of the opening half and by as much as seven at one point, but Brisbane took over in the third with Tanner Krebs and Devondrick Walker providing a spark to go on a 26-13 in the period.
Melbourne continued to challenge the visitors, however Brisbane were able to prevail and held strong for a four point victory.
The Bullets were still without Aron Baynes, Nathan Sobey, Tyler Johnson and Tyrell Harrison who are still to come into the line-up.
Walker delivered 17 points, four rebounds and two assists for the Bullets in 25 minutes. Krebs had 15 points, going four of seven from long range. Gorjok Gak had 11 points and nine rebounds, and Jason Cadee added 10 points.
The Bullets will begin their NBL Blitz campaign in Darwin next Sunday against the New Zealand Breakers.
