Brisbane Bullets Assistant Coach, CJ Bruton has requested a release from the Club to pursue a Head Coaching opportunity with the Adelaide 36ers.
The Club has granted his release and we wish CJ the best in his new role.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Peter McLennan thanked CJ for his contribution to the Club.
“As a Club we are disappointed to see CJ go, but conversely, we’re excited for him to have this opportunity to further his coaching career.
“CJ has been an integral part of the Club since our reinstatement into the league 5 years ago, he’s done a tremendous job both on and off the floor during that time.
“We understand the progressive nature of sport and we want to see our players, coaches and staff keep improving and progressing their careers and this next move for CJ is no different.
“I’m excited for CJ and his family for this opportunity as he continues to develop his coaching career.
“We thank CJ for everything he has done for the Club, we wish him the best in his new endeavours and he will always be a friend of the Brisbane Bullets.”
General Manager of Basketball, Sam Mackinnon expressed his gratitude to CJ for his contribution to the Club and Brisbane Community.
“He has played a pivotal role in getting the Bullets back to where we are today and he’ll be sorely missed by not only the people he works with but by the community at large.
“We wish him the very best in his next role as Head Coach and we would like to thank him and his family for the contribution they have made to the Bullets.”
